Leh, June 28, 2010
To condemn the recent fuel price hike by the center govt. an emergency meeting of the LUTF working committee was held yesterday at Leh under the Chairmanship of Dr. Sonam Dawa, President, LUTF.
The members in the meeting expressed grave concern over the strong impact on the economy, trade and general life in Ladakh because of the price hike of the petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, kerosene oil, LPG cylinders, etc.
The meeting particularly took note of the hike in the price of LPG cylinders by Rs.35 each. They informed that it will adversely affect the normal life of common people of Ladakh who depend upon LPG not only for cooking but also for heating purposes during the winter season.
The meeting condemned the failure of the central and state government to check price rise and put the burden of their policies upon the poor people.
The party through this meeting demanded that the govt. should revise their decision of hike in fuel price considering the economy of common people of this far flung region of the country.
