Leh, July 2, 2010 Ladakh Union Territory Front (LUTF) once again staged its monthly three-day Dharna to press the UT demand that started in the form of procession from LUTF office through the main bazaar to old bus stand shouting slogans demanding UT status for Ladakh led by the volunteers accompanied by many party workers besides Hon’ble CEC, Sh. Tsering Dorjay, Executive Councillors and Councillors LAHDC.

Seven LUTF Women acting workers of Tashi Gatsal, headed by Smt. Yangchan Dolma were sitting on this Dharna in support of its demand of UT status for Ladakh region. LUTF strongly condemns both center and state governments for neglecting Ladakh’s representation in the ongoing silent talk process to bring about a solution to the Kashmir issue. Secondly, the leaders condemned the present price rise causing dilemma among poor people. Petroleum product’s price hike will have similar impact on prices of all other items since the transportation prices are bound to increase.
The speakers were LUTF senior leaders and prominent workers including Dr. Sonam dawa Lonpo, President, Sh. Tsewang Tondup EC Agriculture, Smt. Padma Tsomo women worker, Sh. Tashi wangyal and Sh. Nazir Ahmad, Sr. Party worker.
On the closing day of dharna the party also organised a grand protest rally and public jalsa at Pologround on July 1.
