Delhi based NGO BLIA YAD held medical cum awareness camp in Zansker region
July 14, 2010 With the sole purpose to reach out to the people of rural areas in need of medical attention and awareness a four day medical cum awareness camp was held in Padum, Raru and Zangla villages of Zanskar region from 8th to 11th of July. The camp was organized by a Delhi based NGO called BLIA Young Adult Division comprising mostly of Ladakhi members with the support of Fo Guang Shan Cultural and Educational Center New Delhi, Malaysia and Chinese medical relief team and Kansihka Cultural Association.
Seven doctors from China, Malaysia and France and seven other volunteers from different countries participated in the camp apart from Ladakhi members of BLIA YAD Delhi. More than seven hundred people were benefited from the camp.
Executive councilor Mr. Phuntsog Tashi was present during the last day of the camp and expressed his satisfaction and happiness by thanking the doctors, volunteers and YAD members. He also promised to provide better facilities for such camps in future.
BLIA YAD earlier conducted medical camps in places like Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh and some remote villages in Nepal too. RLC
